Hello everybody, thanks for coming to our presentation. Today we'll show you some of what the art department at Ozark High School has been doing with blogging.
We are a Google School, so we use Blogspot.com. Since we use Google mail all of the apps, including blogspot, can be accessed using the same password and login.
Further, many applications in Google, such as Docs and Forms, work seamlessly with Blogger. Plus, since we use Drive, all of our files can be stored in the Google Cloud.
In the art department we are using Blogger as both an online classroom and as a student portfolio.
In addition to a main class page, each student creates thier own blog (replacing the 3 ring binder in some classes), and uploads both completed works as well as works in progress.
Many students use the Blobger app on thier mobile device to both photograph, upload, and answer self-assessments. In some classes, students have given feedback to peers using the Comments feature.
While not a total solution for every class, we have found, in our continuing experimentations, that Blogging for art classes can be a great tool for both Formative and Summative assessment.
We hope you enjoy the presentation.
